São analisados os dispositivos referentes à educação especial na nova Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação, que apontam uma ação mais ligada aos sistemas e programas do ensino regular. Indicam-se algumas implicações e perspectivas para a área, no contexto das reformas educacionais em curso.

This article analyses the provisions for special education in the new Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação (Educations Bases and Aims act) That aims towards an approach at more closely related to regular education systems and programs. We focus upon some implications and perspectives for this area, in the context of the ongoing educational reforms.

Este artigo é resultado de uma reflexão sobre a formação do educador no curso de pedagogia. Procura-se, com base numa experiência concreta de reformulação de curso, refletir sobre alguns aspectos importantes, tais como: o comum e o básico no currículo, o para quem e o porquê que da formação geral. Algumas perspectivas que se anunciam, desde essa realidade, são apresentadas ao final.

This article is the result of our thinking at teacher training in the Faculty of Education. Starting with the concrete experience of restructuring the course, our aim is to discuss important aspects such as: what is common and basic to the curriculum, why provide a broad formation, and who are our students. In the final section of this article, we present some possibilities emerged from the study of this reality.

Este trabalho procura analisar criticamente a relação entre a surdez, a linguagem e a cultura, a partir de três referenciais teóricos básicos: a história, a abordagem multiculturalista e a relação normalidade-patologia, no sentido de questionar a integração social do indivíduo surdo, buscando superar a visão dicotômica e a-histórica que centra toda sua análise na divisão do meio social entre "sociedade ouvinte" e "comunidade surda".

This paper analyses critically the relationship between the deafness, language and culture, from three basic theoretical references: history, the multiculturalist approach and the relationship between normality and patology, to discuss the social integration of the deaf. In this sense, it searches to overcome the dicotomic and a-historic vision that who centers the analysis on the the social environment distinction between the "hearing society" and the "deaf community"

O presente estudo tem como objetivo problematizar a práxis pedagógica de ensino bilíngüe para surdos com base na concepção bakhtiniana de linguagem. Assumir tal perspectiva é pressupor a construção da subjetividade como resultado de um processo no qual o "outro" possui papel ativo e constitutivo. No processo de construção dialética do objeto lingüístico o sujeito entra no fluxo dinâmico de uma cadeia de enunciados já tecidos histórica e socialmente. Minha contribuição nesta apresentação busca resgatar o papel desse "outro" no processo recíproco de ensino e aprendizagem da criança surda, no contexto de seu trabalho com duas línguas: a de sinais e o português.

Assuming Bakhtin's conception of language, this paper discusses the educational praxis of language teaching to deaf students. The construction of subjectivity is considered by the author as a product of dialogical and dialectic work in which the "other" has an essential co-author status. During the process of language construction, the subject takes part of a rich network of enunciations which are always historically and socially determined. My goal in this study is to focus on the linguistic co-partnership of this "other" in the reciprocal process of teaching and/or learning two different languages, Sign Language and Portuguese, by Deaf students.

The education of the deaf is a complex problem characterised by difficulties and limitations. Throughout history, this subject has been polemic bringing different consequences to that education. This article aims at presenting the history of the education of the deaf focusing on oralism, total communication, bilinguism and its consequences.

O artigo se propõe a discutir a educação das pessoas consideradas portadoras de deficiência, focalizando mais detidamente a educação dos indivíduos que apresentam seqüelas motoras. Nesse sentido, discute as possibilidades de acesso ao conhecimento sistematizado, a partir de uma contextualização histórica. Aborda a relação dos homens com o conhecimento ao mesmo tempo em que relaciona a educação com a categoria trabalho. Discute o movimento de integração das pessoas consideradas portadoras de deficiência à rede regular de ensino em meio às políticas neoliberais.

This paper discusses the education of people considered handicapped and their possibilities of having access to systematic knowledge. Therefore, it approaches the school organization and the relationship with knowledge, connects education with work and, at last, discusses the integration of this questions in a neoliberal politics context, avoiding and abstract reading and defending a historicas approach.

À luz de proposições que fundamentam recentes trabalhos sobre deficiência mental e pedagogia, este estudo faz uma reflexão sobre problemas suscitados pelo desenvolvimento conceitual e fins educativos da educação escolar de pessoas com déficit intelectual, para os quais as investigações estão buscando soluções teóricas, técnicas e metodológicas apropriadas.

In light of propositions which underlie recent studies on mental disability and education, this study reflects upon problems raised by conceptual development and educational goals of the schooling for mentally disabled, as researchers have been looking for appropriate theoretical, technical and methodological solutions for such problems.
